Disney has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action version of Lilo & Stitch, offering a sneak peek at the highly anticipated remake of the 2002 animated classic. The 30-second teaser showcases Stitch causing chaos on the beach, destroying sandcastles in a manner reminiscent of Godzilla’s rampages.
The film features Chris Sanders, the original voice actor and creator of Stitch, who returns to voice the character again. Maia Kealoha, a newcomer, will portray Lilo, the young girl from Hawaii who forms a bond with the alien Stitch. The movie will explore their relationship, as Lilo and Stitch find family in each other despite the chaos surrounding them, with aliens and social workers complicating their lives.
The cast also includes Sydney Agudong as Lilo’s older sister Nani, Kahiau Machado as Nani’s love interest David Kawena, and notable stars like Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, Amy Hill, and Tia Carrere.
The live-action Lilo & Stitch is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025.
