Ederson has committed to staying at Manchester City, quashing speculation about a potential move this summer. Despite rumors linking the Brazilian goalkeeper with a transfer to the Saudi Pro League, he has decided to remain with the Premier League champions as they aim for their fifth consecutive title.
Following City’s Community Shield win over Manchester United, Ederson spoke about his future, noting his discussions with manager Pep Guardiola.
“It’s settled,” Ederson told ESPN Brasil. “I spoke with some players, the coach, the director, and my family. It was a collective decision. We’ll be staying at City for more years.”
Guardiola expressed satisfaction with Ederson’s decision, stating, “I’ve already made up my mind about the future, especially after talking with Guardiola. This season, I’m fully focused on City and pursuing more titles.”
Ederson played in the Manchester derby at Wembley, contributing by scoring in the penalty shootout. The match ended 0-0 after regular time, with City emerging victorious 7-6.
