Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez and are ready to finalize a major transfer, according to reports.
On Tuesday, Atletico and City agreed on a €95m (£81.5m) fee, but the Spanish club still needed to negotiate a contract with Alvarez, who had a more lucrative offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Following additional negotiations, Fabrizio Romano reports that Alvarez has agreed to a five-year contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, and the transfer has been approved by all parties involved.
Alvarez’s transfer will trigger a domino effect, leading to Atletico also approving a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. Chelsea will receive €42m (£36.1m) for Gallagher, who has been given permission to travel to Madrid for a medical scheduled for Wednesday.
