However, Southgate expressed little interest in engaging in discussions that deviated from his primary focus as the head of the England squad.
As the European Championships loom on the horizon, Southgate’s sole focus remains on leading the Three Lions in the upcoming tournament in Germany, slated to commence on June 14. England’s first match, against Serbia, follows just two days later.
Despite Southgate’s contract with the England team expiring in December, any decisions regarding his future will be postponed until after the tournament. The Football Association (FA) has reiterated its stance, affirming its desire for Southgate to continue in his current position.
