Machine Gun Kelly Shares How Daughter Casie Helped Him Decide to Get Sober

Machine Gun Kelly is opening up about his decision to get sober.

Earlier this month, the 34-year-old “Emo Girl” rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, revealed that he’s a year sober after a stint in rehab.

During an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast on Sunday (August 18), MGK said that he decided to get sober after an emotional conversation with his 15-year-old Casie.

Keep reading to find out more…“It started with my daughter saying, ‘Dad, you know I can tell when you’re high,’” MGK recalled. “It broke my heart. It was the ultimate let down.”

MGK went on to note that Casie, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon, was 11 or 12 when she confronted him.

“It took me a while afterward, because obviously drugs have a vice grip on you,” MGK explained. “That was step one for me. As a father and as a man, to be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid.”
