Michael Villella, the actor best known for his role as the iconic killer Russ Thorn in the 1982 cult classic The Slumber Party Massacre, has passed away at the age of 84. According to his daughter, Chloe Villella, he died on Saturday afternoon from multiple organ failure after spending over a month in the hospital.
In addition to The Slumber Party Massacre, Michael appeared in films such as Love Letters, Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue, and made guest appearances on Gotham. He is survived by his daughter and his ex-wife.
Chloe shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, writing, “May you rest in peace daddy ♥️💋.” Fans of the horror genre and Michael’s work will remember him for his memorable portrayal of the slasher villain in The Slumber Party Massacre. RIP.
