‘Real Time’ Bill Maher says he may quit covering Donald Trump because he can no longer do it.

Bill Maher has expressed his frustrations about continuing his role as the host of Real Time with Bill Maher in the coming years, particularly with the possibility of Donald Trump returning to office after the 2024 election. On his Club Random podcast, Maher revealed that he may consider quitting the show if Trump takes office again, explaining that he is tired of covering Trump and feels that he’s already discussed every aspect of him extensively over the years. He shared that Trump frequently tweets negatively about him, calling him a “low ratings loser,” and mentioned that he’s bored with the constant political focus of the show.

Maher acknowledged that Real Time is centered on political discussions, and with Trump likely dominating the news again, Maher isn’t sure if he wants to continue with that dynamic. However, if Maher decides to leave the show, it wouldn’t happen until 2026, as Real Time with Bill Maher was renewed for two more seasons earlier this year.
