Spurs lacked conviction and belief – Postecoglou

After Tottenham’s loss to Chelsea damaged their chances of qualifying for the Champions League, Ange Postecoglou said the team lacked “belief and conviction” but pledged to find a solution.

Despite still having a game in hand, Spurs are currently seven points behind Aston Villa in fourth place after losing 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham still has games against Liverpool and title-chasing Manchester City left on their schedule. They have now dropped three straight Premier League games.

Postecoglou said of his team, “They’ve lost a little bit of belief and conviction in their football and that’s for me to fix.”

Under Postecoglou, Tottenham has had a fantastic start to the season. The team’s free-flowing style of play has been hailed as the former Celtic manager looks to return the team to the Champions League.

But Spurs have only triumphed in two of their last seven games, so they desperately need to turn things around while hoping Villa falters.
