Scathing remarks about the Rangers and Celtics surfaced following a WWE altercation, accompanied by a unified message for both fan bases.
This weekend’s clash between the Premiership rivals holds pivotal significance in the top-flight title race. WWE superstars Drew McIntyre, hailing from Chicago, and CM Punk have engaged in a feud showcased on Monday Night Raw.
In June, WWE is set to grace Glasgow’s OVO Hydro for Smackdown and Clash at the Castle. Despite injuries sidelining both McIntyre and Punk, the Scottish wrestler hasn’t refrained from taunting his opponent with Celtic references.
“I’m struggling to think of a team thriving solely on fleeting moments of glory. Sounds like Celtic, doesn’t it?” McIntyre quipped to the Daily Star, juxtaposing Punk with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, known for player injuries.
Eager to compete in his homeland, McIntyre extends an invitation to fans of all clubs to attend the Hydro tournaments, emphasizing the fervor of both Rangers and Celtic supporters.
“Regardless of your allegiance, that night, we’re all wrestling fans,” McIntyre declared. “Let’s unite to showcase Scotland’s passion, proving ourselves as the world’s most fervent supporters.”
